I have researched and looked over a plethora of institutions to decide who I would choose for our short film. To find the one I would like, I have looked at what best suits our film and what they have supported before. For example who has covered the most thriller/ crime films etc. After looking at this style and what they cover I have narrowed my findings down to two results. The BBC and Film4 are the two I have looked at.
Film 4
Film 4 are better known for supporting smaller productions and companies. In addition to this they support a lot of smaller independent film to get the out to the audience. Film 4 are also linked in with channel 4, this allows them to pride themselves in what they do and show the audience that they want to help fund smaller companies.

The examples above show the vast array and difference in films that Film4 Premiere. In addition to this they have produced and co-produced many thriller and crime films. The fact that this company back a lot of thriller films got my attention, and is one of the big reasons I have looked into this institution.
BBC
The BBC are my second choice who I have looked at. The reason behind this institution is because they are extremely well known and also support a variety of independent films. In addition to this they work with other major companies to distribute the film to a wider audience.
Here is an example of the films that BBC premiere, as you can see their is a wide variety like film 4 had. However unlike film 4 their hasn't been as many thriller/crime films that they have done. For this reason I have decided to go with FILM4 for our institution, also I believe our short film will fit into their target demographic very well. Another key aspect that both companies have is that they are a well known and reputable brand that in the future would be good to be on the start of our short film and will help promote the film intern.
