Photoshoot Reflection Task:21

In a previous posts I have shown my images for use in the DPS and Poster.

Unfortunately we didn't have the planned time with our actors Rory and Emma as our plan for the shoot on Friday was to wrap up filming, film any tweaks we needed and then take a final photoshoot.

However, our actors told us that they had to leave early due to a last minute acting role/ audition in London. This meant that we didn't have the extra day planned. Also this information was told to us on the first day of shooting and we didn't have time to fix up an alternative.

However, I believe what was achievable by the photos and screenshots I got is enough to allow for a professional outcome with the high standards that we want. I believe that the photos will fit into the thriller/crime genre and also give the edge and diversity to the product I want to make . The reason behind this is because they follow a dark and eery colour scheme which is prominent in other thriller magazines and photos.

In addition the amount of photos including the knife will allow me to produce my design ideas and illustrate them were needed which means hopefully I can achieve the style planned without having to plan another day for a photoshoot with our actors. Which would have been difficult due to their time frame and all the other parts such as costume, makeup which would be necessary to show continuity between the film and the magazine photos.

The knife image is in the photos as I believe my main intention for the poster is to create a unique and subverting design were I would illustrate the knife into a design. Such ideas have inspired me are the famous Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock. This is an illustrated knife which is put into a film of a similar genre.

Also, for my knife illustration idea, I believe I could use a relevant and symbolic colour such as blue in the background to connote the idea of dreaming and remembering. This could be something that relates to the fact our protagonist is remembering about how and why he is in the therapy scene at the start of the film.
