Co-writers Fin Davis and Ben Hicks develop a strong, relentless narrative throughout the short which takes the viewers into the life of Rory wilton(Anthony). After witnessing a Double Homicide, we can see that the Poldark actor is going through some painful times.
White Lies is a story of a man who’s life is ruled by drugs and has taken him to paths that have major consequences.
Taking on this role we can see that Rory has conveyed the exact representations of his character and has taken parts in to consideration to make the role appear as realistic as possible. With his previous experience we can see that Rory has developed his character in a way that shows his normal inside, which is painted in crime and drug abuse.
The fragmented connection of Anthony’s mind presents us with the prison therapy session with several other inmates. “Lets start with Anthony” Therapist Alison brings us straight into the mindset of Anthony. Flashing back into the Dark, dingy alleyway with drug dealer Ben Hicks supplying the substance. The warm natural street light pours over both actors, connoting how Anthony is loosing the plot and has a disjointed mind set.
A visual story is a key element as we move into the house scene and the audiences attention is grabbed in this unique short. With critiques naming this short as a true nature film with aspects that are thoroughly missed in todays film industry.
I myself believe that the critics are right and that the style from writers Ben Hicks and Fin Davis needs to be conceptualised by DOP Zack Vincent in another short or even a feature. With ingenious sound choice’s by Jake Clutsom, this Apex Production crew are a real dab hand at film making and need too venture into bigger and better things.

OUTCOME:
Overall I have shown progression in my Article and the outcome I believe is very good. Looking at this now I wont be changing anything from the second version in terms of content. However I will be looking at changing the font and maybe a pull quote when it comes to the final outcome. I believe with this article I have really pulled enough information out of the film to allow for the audience to be intrigued whilst having not given so much away that they wont need to see the film.
